rules against bathing during your period because touching water during your cycle would make you violently ill...

you were told this nonsense too huh? interestingly enough my father, who was never a witness, had this concept in his mind also. I don't think it's a witness rule.

hmm, maybe it was an 'east coast thing', lol

Tampons were "strictly forbidden" in my area. There was even a local needs talk about it, with a mother-daughter talk demonstration! I went ahead and used them anyway.

WHATTT?? You cannot be serious? I cant believe that. Ive never heard such medieval mumbo jumbo in all my life (well apart from the 3 meetings a week I went to for 30 years)

My god thats just too much.

Threads DO degenerate. This one went from a lovely subject like pubic hair shaving to a nasty subject like menstruation.
Sith (of the blot it up before I'll shave it class)

The WTS is invading even the most intimate matters of its members, it has to be a cultish organisation to behave in that way, no decent religion nowadays would go that far.

Just to add, same thing here with the tampons. My mother said it would make me no longer a virgin, it would get lost inside, etc. etc. etc. That was common with the JWs here, too. hmm, maybe it was an 'east coast thing'

East coast tampon user over here! This is shocking to me, I can't believe this would ever have been a issue.

Yes there is an article in the magazines where women and their sex urges are equated with those of cows on heat.

Whether one shaves down under of course is no one's business unless you consent to make it so. But the coersive discussion on vasectomies in the congo indicates that one should worry about what others may be told to think by the WBTS.

"Of course others in the congregation would not view a brother favorably for destroying his god-given reproductive powers for selfish reasons" They tell them what to think on this. Why would anyone discuss something so intimate with these cloaci?

"Of course our research in brothels and gay dungeons shows that many who attend shave their genitals to avoid catching pubic crabs. What honesthearted one would even anticipate indulging in activities where this might happen? True it is a personal decision; but what if another in the congregation spotted that a brothers trousers fitted too snugly above his penis? Might not they assume that he is shaving his pubic region for other purposes than the kindumb bleating? Truly we do not want to selfishly indulge our desire for feelings of airiness on our private parts to stumble another from the path to paradise."

Who's going to check anyway? So what's the point of making such rules? Or will a spouses tell on their partners?
