    It's About The Kids

I first realized the power of music as a young boy listening to AM radio on Long Island, NY, in the early 1960s. I soaked up virtually everything that came across the airwaves. It wasn't long before I began expanding my musical horizons, with the influence of my parents' record collection, to the great composers such as Chopin, Tchaikovsky and Mozart. Still in grade school, I took up the drums with the school band and orchestra. Not long after that, my father bought me my first acoustic guitar as a gift, so I set about teaching myself to play it. In just a few years, my family got a piano, which I of course had to play!

It was only a year or so after beginning piano lessons that I found the true power of music. It was then that I was first exposed to the truth of the Bible. After getting baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1975 at age 16, I began more than ever to appreciate that music can be used to our detriment, or to encourage positive qualities like faith, hope and love.

Over the years I have dabbled with music off and on, but never seriously, as it always seemed impossible to do so in this world while seeking the kingdom first. A few years ago, thanks to the encouragement of family and friends, I began putting whatever musical ability I have to good use by writing songs along theocratic themes; first to encourage my young children in their struggle to maintain integrity in this world, then to entertain and encourage the brotherhood in general.

Oh I can't wait. I'm sure the friends will be sending this link around like wildfire. I'm going to use the banning language from the previous KM. If Jah wanted this music published this guy would be at bethel or would at least have a record deal.

Well they do counsel from the stage to get the children while they are young and impressionable. You know before they develope the ability to think for themselves.

Notice the "Brooklyn Bound" song! Maybe they're trying to give their tribute to Crooklyn so they don't get banned. I wonder what the words are:

"Yay-hey, I'm goin' away....to the men in the little black suits

They're coming to take me away Ha Ha
They're coming to take me away Ho Ho
They're coming to take me away He He Ho Ho Ha Ha

To the funny factory where life is wonderful all the time
and I'll be happy to see those men in the little black coats"

I can't seem to find a release date for this CD. Maybe it's not new.

Now this is interesting! I once had a music tape from a JW guy, im sure he was from Ireland. They were all kids songs really. One was a song to help you remember the books of the bible, which to this day I remember.

Another song was called "Whatcha gunna do when the paradise comes?" If i heard it now its probably sickly, but i loved it at the time. His wife and daughter sang on it as well, which was nice. Any other Brits heard of this?

Thing is it was a marked improvement to the Kindom Melodies!!!!

One last point (sorry) I once heard a tape of the Kingdom melodies played on steel drums. That was awful!!!

Frustrating. That Track01 sample ends at an odd spot:

(dum de dum) ... The Bi-ble.... is an Open Book...

    *snip* (end of sample)

I guess he doesn't want the general public hearing the next line:

    (dum de dum)

... A book which is only open... to the Gov-er-ning Bo-dy....
    ... it is o-pen....
... only to themmmmmmm...... (dum de dum)
    ... We must ac-ceptttttttt....
    ... Their in-struc-tion....
... After allllllllll.... They're speaking for GOD!!!!
    (dum de dum).

~Quotes of the "Also has a terrible singing voice, but at least I'm not dumb enough to try to make a record" class

    I quit!

When I first read the names of the songs I wanted to throw- up. Then I thought about it again. I still wanted to throw-up.

I guess some of the songs titles could have double meanings such as Brooklyn Bound. It could refer to being chained to the Watchtower there in Brooklyn or the spiritual constipation one suffers as a worker bee at Watchtower Central.

hahahahahahaha Bob Marley would be proud........

    Kingdumb Soldier, crewcut Bethelite:
There was a Kingdumb Soldier in the heart of America,
Stolen from being worldly, brought to Crooklyn,
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival.

    If you know your history,
Then you would know where you coming from,
Then you wouldn't have to ask me,
Who the 'eck do I think I am.

Dubbie, woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy,
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!
Woy yoy yoy, woy yoy-yoy yoy,
Woy yoy yoy yoy, yoy yoy-yoy yoy!
Kingdumb Soldier troddin' through the land, wo-ho-ooh!
Said he wanna ran, then you wanna hand,
Troddin' through the land, yea-hea, yea-ea.
