The WT's muffled message: Where's the ``Good News of the Kingdom" in This?

It's been commented on several times on this forum, but it would seem that the billions of hours lavished by JWs in purportedly getting their message to the public has been a dismal failure, at least if measured by the extent to which they've been able ;get their core beliefs ; (i.e., God's kindom has been established invisibly in 1914 and you had better get with our program or face annihilation -- and soon) -- across to the public.

; ; ; ; It's no wonder. ; Take a look at some of the front-page titles of this current year's magazines (especially the Awake! which most JWs like to feature in preference to the WT) and ask yourselves: where the !#!%! is the ``Good News of the Kingdom" in any of this?

    .--January 22: Understanding ;Your Doctor

-- ;February 8: Relief From Stress!

-- February 22: The Role of Mothers as Educators

-- March 8: Flying: How Did it Start? How Safe is it?

-- May 22: Are You Getting Enough Exercise?

-- June 8: Alone but Not Lonely

-- June 22: Shoplifting.. The Price We All Pay

-- July 8: How to Find a Job and Keep it

    -- June 15: Work-- A Blessing or a Curse?

And so on, ad infinitum, ad nauseum ; (1 Cor. 14:8)

The awake is not the same as the Watchtower. The awake focus on worldnews and other problems around the world. And what is worng with those articles anyway? They are very informative. The watchtower is the magazine that announces Gods Kingdom. If you read the purpose of the magazine on the inside cover it says that.

I think the point, Defd, is that the JW's have done a crappy job at letting their purposed "kingdom" known in the world today. If you ask any non-JW why JW's come to the door, they'll say to sell magazines or to convert, not to let people know "God's Kingdom". These articles in the Asleep! mag, although may be somewhat more interesting to read then the WT, don't focus on this Kingdom that the JW's are supposed to focus on, and are more of a bait to take the WT with.

With all do respect if you believe in the Kingdom and wait for the blessings of it, are YOU announcing that? If you can and be effective at it, Why dont you? If you already do, you are to be commended, if not, you have no right to criticize the efforts of others who do and at great cost to themselves at that.

Whether any non-JW believes in the Kingdom is not relevant. The point is that the Witnesses aren't really known for their 'kingdom message' nearly as much as they are for the other ancillary issues that have been mentioned in this thread.

If you can and be effective at it, Why dont you?

The 'kingdom message' as taught by the Witnesses is built upon untruths regarding such things as 1914, 1919 and 607, which can be disproved from the bible. It is empty, and there is nothing to teach.

If you already do, you are to be commended, if not, you have no right to criticize the efforts of others who do and at great cost to themselves at that.

Where there are laws of freedom of speech, people have a perfectly valid right to make fair comment. The 'great cost to themselves' that many Witnesses expend is often out of a sense of guilt or obligation rather than a 'sense of urgency' of getting the 'kingdom message' out.

I honestly wonder if you lived in the era of the book of acts, if you would be saying the same thing about the disciples of Jesus who were going out in service preaching the Goodnews of Gods Kingdom. And oh by the way, They TOO had some wrong ideas about the kingdom. There efforts were greatly blessed by Jehovah. There is no better feeling than telling somebody the Goodnews about the Kingdom and how they can benefit from them. Like Jesus said there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.

The Bible does not support the idea that God will kill lots of innocent people who would have otherwise qualified for life. Besides, he is leaving the judging to Jesus and the 1,440,000 judges from all walks of life who will decide what is what. Some of them will likely think just as you would as far as granting mercy and life.. Actually, the bar will be fairly low with those in Jesus' day, who knew exactly who he was but still didn't want him (much like Satan knows God but has decided he would rather rebel) being the criteria. So you have to sort of deliberately have chosen consciously to go the wrong way not to be invited to have life.

JC, what's up with you these days anyway?? Who gave you the right to multiply that number by 10?? You're certainly being carried away by exotic teachings that manifest themselves in those who have strayed from the banquet of well-oiled dishes being served at the GB's table. Beware, that the Evil One not finally get you in his trap.

Hey, just explain, is this New Light? Or did the devil possess those fingers for the duration of the post?
