Ever got stung or bitten by animals? (page 3)

Swarmed by bumbelbees twice...stung by red wasps, yellow jackets, red ants and fire ants many times. Several times by scorpions, tree asps. Bitten by ticks, chiggers and mosquitos. Several dog bites. Clawed by cats(when attempting to put them outside). Have had copperheads strik at my boots. Never horse bit, but one did snatch the hat from my head along with some hair. Last, but not least, was charged by a Black Angus cow, now that was scary. I am a walking disaster in the outdoors.

Got stung by a wasp or a yellow jacket once. I had my hands behind my back, talking to someone and OOOHHHhhh Snappp!!!. i hollered and cussed and whined and tried to find the assailant. After finding the little bugger, killing it gave little or no pleasure as compared with the pain I had to endure for about 2 hours. It's a pain that will not soon be forgotten. Mine happened over 15 years ago. It was such a shock to the system that I'll always remember what hand it was and where exactly I was stung.

I think bee stings are the easiest to deal with. My dad & I used to work about 300 beehives in Florida, from Orlando up to Palatka. There's no way to harvest honey from those hives without getting stung. Some days you might get 10 or 20 stings. The only time it really hurt was when you were stung in that soft skin under the eyes or around the mouth. You'd wind up looking like you had been in a bar fight, with a fat lip or with an eye swollen shut.

Two summers ago I got bitten by a brown recluse spider. OH, very nasty. On my boob at that. The poisons eats away the flesh. and causes all sort of problems. I fineally went to the emergency room about a month later and 6 docs came to check out the bite!!!! Anyway, antibiotics fineally got me well. I was sick for almost 3 months though.

Pulling weeds at KH and got in a ant bed. My hand swelled up like that Kingpen guys rubber hand.......My arm and elbow... Could not breath. Anyway, got out of gardening duty after that !!!!!

Bees, spiders, got a dog bite once that lumped the fat together on my leg......like the size of a golfball. Was there a few years.

Still have a scar on my hand from dogbite as a kid. Took almost 30 years to warm up to dogs again.

Bird bites are the worst..........been bitten by African Grey........lunged from his cage and bit me and a cockatoo........was holding her and she bit me and all I could do is wait for her to let go as you cannot pull away.

My sister bit me alot when we were growing up and my kids have bit me.

Lovebug has bitten me a time or two.

"My sister bit me alot when we were growing up and my kids have bit me." Oh, Lord ... my nephew sank his teeth into my shoulder about 35 years ago. Little kids are even worse than poodles. You got me on that one. And a brown recluse ... those are nasty little critters. Spiders inject these awful enzymes which begin to digest your flesh ... blecch!

Ouch! Art that reminds me of about the third scorpion sting I had, the hollering and cussin' stuff, I knew as soon as I felt the burn it was a scorpion. By the time I found him to see what kind he was I had quit hurting. I didn't kill him tho'. I hope it broke him from stinging.

Been dog bitten twice once out in service. and when I was in pre-school by a German Shepherd.

Yellow Jackets sting twice. I couldn't say how many bee stings a whole bunch too many.

Purps that ornery love bug can be a bugger sometimes .

Lets see many different occasions. Ive recently got stung by a swack of black hornets as I was weedeating and didnt realize their was a huge nest on an tree stump in the grass. BRRRRRR. Swack! All of a sudden I feel about 5 sharp pains on my arms and look! OHHHHH $HIT! Seen them all swarming, huge nest all ripped to shreds and ran like hell. Arm swole up for awhile. Got bitten first time this summer by a wasp while riding my motorcycle. Crawled up my arm stung me. Got stung by a honeybee and believe it or not that one swelled up the worst. Got bitten by a spider before, even bitten and leaped at by a green igauna, it was mating season and I was gonna let him outside and he just leaped at me, that scared the bejeazers out of me. Bite didnt hurt though, the claws and tail are the worst. Had several dog bites over the years, ant bites, and been pecked at by chickens.

Yikes Purplesofa, Ive seen the brown recluse and pictures of what its venom can do. Thats friggin freaky and glad you caught it in time.

I was stung by a scorpion once, very painful it was. I was told at the hospital to just grin and bear it, the grinning I could not do but I endured the pain. I got into a nest of bees once and had to have a lymphnode removed. It was swollen from bee pollen. Bitten by dogs twice and had a tick on the head of my penis, now that was worse than the scorpion. Had several close calls by water moccasins but never been bitten by them thank goodness. I have never seen as many poisness snakes as I seen in texas and big ones too.

Just curious what is a "water moccasin". Never did hear about them before.
