a few singer songwriters are using cellos now as accompaniment...tom mcrae, damien rice eg
i saw tom mcrae a couple of weeks ago supporting tori amos..there was just him, his guitar, and the cellist and cello...i couldnt believe you could so many sounds out of a cello..and nothing was synthesized either...brilliant
