My elder brother seems to think the Watchtower never said that, these articles are about the 1914 generation that will not pass away, I beleive they are study articles also, so if someone could post the articles in their entirety form the magazine or direct me to a website that has them, would be appreciated. I'm pretty sure it was May 15, has the logo on the front cover, 1914 thegeneration that will not pass away, might be May 1, 1984, not sure.

Since 1914 we have already lived through two world wars and many other major conflicts, along with famines, earthquakes, pestilences and the like. What system is this that has also lorded it over the “peoples and crowds and nations and tongues”? It is false religion! Yes, all religions that are false from Jehovah God’s standpoint constitute this “great harlot,” who is actually a world empire. But what does the immediate future hold for her?—Revelation 17:1-8, 15; 18:15-17.
Revelation 17:16 indicates that radical political elements within the United Nations (the “scarlet-colored wild beast”) will hate the religious harlot and devastate her. Already, powerful atheistic and antireligious elements in the UN have taken steps to stamp out religion within their domain. But more drastic action is expected in the near future when these political elements devastate not only Christendom but also the other great religious systems. Logically, the anti-God forces will also attack Jehovah’s Witnesses who faithfully proclaim God’s Kingdom. In the year 33 C.E., Jesus foretold regarding Jerusalem and its temple: “As for these things that you are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone upon a stone will be left here and not be thrown down. Furthermore, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by encamped armies, then know that the desolating of her has drawn near.”—Luke 21:6, 20.
Thirty-three years later, the Roman army, under Cestius Gallus, attacked Jerusalem and was at the point of victory. Inexplicably, however, General Gallus ordered his troops to retreat. As a consequence, some of the Jews must have thought that their sacred city would not suffer destruction. But such a thought was short-lived. Four years later, the Roman armies under Titus came back and destroyed Jerusalem and its temple.
Thus Jesus’ prophecy came true right down to fine detail. As G. A. Williamson said in his introduction to Josephus’ The Jewish War: “Had we no other sources of information than the gospels we should be tempted to suspect that the warnings of Jesus were couched in hyperbolical [exaggerated] language . . . I don't have the copies but I must ask, how long has your brother been a witness? Is he your elder brother or your brother an elder? I am amazed when I hear stories of how someone doesn't believe the 1914 teaching changed.
That's all most of us talked about, the advancing age of the generation of 1914. How old would they be now and when would they die off. I mean come on, we all knew that the 1914 generation was our one sure way of calculating that the end was near. The other signs can be sort of up and down, but not old age - it's a one way trip.
You should show your brother how the age of the generation changed over time as well. At first you had to be an adult in 1914 to understand what happened; then it slowly became that even a 1914 baby could be counted in that generation. When even that wasn't working the entire doctrine went away.
A true blue dub will say that the teaching was used by Jehovah to help us (dubs) even though we don't understand it.

A Witnesss' biggest fear is that the Watch Tower Society will be proved wrong. That's why they all clap when the Society changes an error and delivers a new explanation of the old explanation to believe. They don't want the Society to be wrong, that's why facts and evidence won't affect them and that's why they avoid us and shun us. They WANT to be Witnesses. They LIKE being Witnesses.
I like them being Witnesses, so everybody's happy on my side of the street.

Right ON, Gary! The hard core dubs have a "reality filter" securely installed in both ears and wear special glasses that block out all evidence that the WTBTS is wrong about anything. I nearly fell over one day when I tried to talk to a friend about the endless filp flopping of the 1914 doctrine and she just got this sicky-sweet condescending look on her face and said "Jehovah is merely testing Us!"
That's their world and they're welcome to it!!!
