Is it better to live life hard treating your body like an amusement park and doing things like partying hard, hang gliding, skydiving, extreme sports, etc. or to pace yourself eating all the right foods, avoiding dangerous pastimes, watching your cholesterol, etc. for a long and possibly duller life?
Better to Burn Out or Rust?

It all depends upon what your goal is: longevity or immediate gratification.

U/D, I agree, I do the same with a bias towards burn out.

You can enjoy life by doing sports that are not high risk and can greatly increase your chances of getting killed. Also no need for recreation drugs, and for me cholesterol is not a real risk factor in heart disease.
The bottom line is that life can be fully enjoyed with a more measured lifestyle. -

This is a good thread, becuase It really says something.
This is me and Hillary_Steps argument, and you've solved it.
I'm mostly type 1, hes mostly type 2.
He wants me to be type 2, I want to stay type 1. That was simple...

Maybe that explains the fad of owning a monster Suv/Hummer...with a 3' lift kit and $20K worth of "off-road" equipment...
Only that vehicle's tires will NEVER so much as touch dirt.
If you're gonna have the "equipment" for gawds sake USE IT!!!
