What do you do to cool off on a hot day... go to the beach or swim in a pool? I prefer swimming in a pool myself.

I prefer the beach as long as it's not crowded. Pools are nice for privacy but the chlorine makes me itch.

I prefer the sea because I can play with the waves, and with the gogles look at the sea bottom the rocks, the marine animals and plants. I also don't like Chlorine's smell in the pools. The seawater with its salt is just as aseptic.

I prefer pools...I have this strange fear of going into the sea. Might be that I shouldn't have watched Jaws when I was young, might be the Jelly-fish infestation I witnessed as a kid. *shudder* Now I am really mortified to put my feet in the sea, not knowing what might lurk in the sand...

I have no pool and there is no beach around here.

I loved going to the beach, when I went to Old Orchard beach years ago . Not for cooling off, but for the fun of being on the beach..and walking in the sand with other people around me.

But, there's nothing like a pool in your back yard, with fresh clean water to cool you off on a hot muggy day.

    Other than that, there's beer.

I much prefer a pool. This is because I grew up near the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone who has ever been to a beach at the Gulf knows that it is nothing more than a glorified mud puddle.

with the gogles look at the sea bottom the rocks, the marine animals and plants.

I would love to do something like that... the only problem is that in the Gulf of Mexico you can't see your feet in knee deep water.

I prefer a swimming pool. I love the atmosphere at the beach, but I rarely ever go into the water.

When I went to Hawaii earlier this year, we snuck into the pool at the Hyatt (which was right on the beach) and it was a really neat salt water pool. We were able to float with no assistance and I could see to the bottom of the pool. I preferred that pool as the ocean is too unpredictable for me to swim in.

In the Caribbean, the beach for sure. In California, beach is ok.
