Well, I knew a brother who got slaped in the face at a door one time, because he wouldn't leave exactly when the guy told him too, later he was disfellowshiped. Personally, I've had a gun stuck to my face, because of a similar situation. The brother I was with had just got baptized and he was very aggresive (he was an ex-bodybuilder). Believe it or not even after he saw the guy with the gun, he was still standing there like an idiot I had to physically move him away which wasn't very easy.

I wanted to take the gun from the guy at the door and shoot this guy myself from being so stupid!

I knew right then and there that he had some kind of mental problem. He was also disfellowshiped years later for beating his wife!

I was threatened at one door... I was 16 or 17 with another teen friend, and this male bully started in on us, shook his fists at us and lunged. So we politely apologized for disturbing him and gracefully left. As soon as we got out of sight of his house, we ran back to my car and shook and called it a day and went and had a milkshake for early lunch!

No physical contact, all scare tactics. Wasnt about to let him know we were as scared as we were!

I've heard of other similar incidents in Portland during the 60-s and 70's. Now that I think about it, one zealous brother was physically escourted off one porch. My mom had a guy come to the door in a t-shirt and nothing else. Some brothers had women come to the door nekkid. The usual shock tactics. AND of course they went on with their sermons!

On a bright and sunny 4th of July in West Central Iowa...while serving where the great are needed...

This assface elder and me were at a door...he had a flag pole with an American flag proudly flying...

The man asked us what that flag meant to us....and I quote (bro assfaces remarks)

"You mean that....(pointing)... that is an idolatrous phalic symbol that represents your allegiance to a demonic government soon to be destroyed by Jehovah God by means of His Son Christ Jesus..."

This dude went ape shit ballistic!!! He was a Vietnam vet and said F*ck you! to us and I started to walk away ***totally embarassed***, and this whackjob "brother" just mosied slowly...they householder said he was going to get his gun and if we weren't gone when he got back he would "shoot our ass"...

I've seen a few scatter guns at the doors also in the Iowa rurals... but no one ever fired them... besides...I shoot back (even as a Dub).

Man you aint gonna shoot nobody. You remind me of my niece who was always mouthing off and she carried a pistol too. Eventually she shot somebody alright, she shot her own ass in the foot. LOL...

Honestly though she actually did shoot herself in the foot.
