In my congregation, there is a well established group that does phone witnessing every Thursday. The society actually encourages us to try other avenues of ministry, however it seems like Phone witnessing is hurting more than its helping...
Even I, the covert Apostate, don't mind phone witnessing.
I mean whats not to love?- Air conditioning
- food
- sitting around and talking
- girls
- did I mention food?
Any thoughts?
Yes i have a thought. You should be ashamed of yourself..............Even I, the covert Apostate, don't mind phone witnessing. You know Satan the devil at one time was a covert apostate. It is only a matter of time before it is uncovered. So do everyone a favor at your Hall and let it be known. -

defd...I've gathered from some of your posts that you still believe in the JW belief system and feel that is right.
I contend that by coming here and associating with ex-JWs and anti-Jws that your are a covert apostate. So do everyone a favor at your hall and let it be known.

in the uk phone witnessing was not available to all..and you werent allowed to just random call people..
it had to be constant nhs...or difficult to reach-ers like tower blocks with security entrances...and the callers had to be house bound...and all of this had to be arranged by the service overseer..(who wasnt interested)
an ms in my old hall was reaching out to be an elder but was limited in his availability to do fs...so they kept using that as a reason for not appointing him...he was a thalidomide victim with no arms, one leg, 'lived in a wheelchair' , had all his vital organs in the wrong place..had to attend hospital 3 times a week for kidney dialysis...but had nothing wrong with his mouth or his 'heart'..rarely missed a meeting unless he was dying..aux pioneered at least once a year...and couldnt go out in fs as often as he liked because no-one would take him..he was always available..
so i suggested that he be allowed to do telephone witnessing
nope wasnt allowed because he wasnt housebound..his visits to the hospital proved that
tijkmo of the you couldnt make this stuff up..no-one would believe you class

defd, a serious question here, i was raised a JW but was never baptised, so I am not an apostate correct, just an unbeliever?

I am proud. Why should I not be? Should I be ashamed that I have opened my mind and the tide has changed? Is that so bad?
And are YOU even aware of what an apostate is?
a·pos·tate (
n.- One who has abandoned one's religious faith, a political party, one's principles, or a cause.
So have you ever given up on someone or something? Cause that means you're an apostate...

I did plenty of phone witnessing. There were elderly "sisters" who had a hard time going door to door. This was about 15 years ago, before the internet was popular, so I even got to count time going down to the library. They had a book that listed the phone numbers by address. Lots of coffee, cookies and chatter.

defd. I have replied to you, but you certainly have not responded. Please do so, so you can say me from the error of my ways...

defd, go back to kingdom hall and stop bothering us.
Closest thing I got to phone witnessing was standing at the intercoms of a high rise block of flats in Southampton. You took it in turn to press a bell and try and witness through the speaker system. It was REALLY hard. You could be a whole morning stood in the same place. Worst thing was there was also a camera so they could see you. It was pointless.
