Firpo Carr is a known Dub apologist nutter. You only have to read the two reviews on that page to see how the pro-Dub trolls view him. He is quite a hero of many of the trolls that have posted here over the years.

Given the WTS fierce anti criticsm attitude it's hard to see how this guy will not get in some trouble with the GB. I noted his point that minorities make up half the jws and should be given half the GB positions that is six not just one. No wonder why they don't like intellectuals in the jws they always can find things to criticise that the less educated dubs simply can't see.

Stephanus is right. Carr is a nutjob. Not only does he revise JW history in most of his books, he's also gone on news programs as the Jackson family "spiritual advisor" and claimed not too long ago that he was working on a PHD at an unknown college. He may not be wrong about everything but he is wrong about a lot.

    Book Description
More than any other religion in recent history, Jehovah's Witnesses have quietly and positively impacted the black community. Yet, some are concerned that the needs of African Americans, and Black Witnesses specifically, have been overlooked. Others argue that the predominantly white Governing Body is insensitive toward black plight.

This book deals squarely with these and other issues facing today's black Witnesses. Dr. Firpo W. Carr, an active Witness himself for over 35 years (and full-time minister for over 20 of those years), has traveled to black communities in major cities across the United States--from Harlem to Oakland--in an effort to carefully study and critique black Witnesses. The results have been discribed as "riveting."

Though the focus of his study was in the United States, he traveled to Cuba to study black Witnesses and their history on the Communist island. Fidel Castro elected to air Carr's 45-minute lecture on racism nationwide.

On both ends of the sociopolitical spectrum Carr's works have been widely accepted and admired. Legacy, "Africa's leading magazine on social issues," the original Black Panther Party, and many others have recognized and published Carr.

And who's your source on this? The authors mother?

Fidel Castro elected to air Carr's 45-minute lecture on racism nationwide.

    Wow, what validation!

Castro is a legitimate source of acceptance? That bastard is cut from the same dictatorial threads as the GB, ask Cuban artists (can't - they've been jailed or killed). Maybe this pioneer should have stayed in Cuba and could have received a "serve where the need is greater" badge. What the PHD Witness forgets is ... the GB has slaves, and regardless of color, they are GB slaves, at their beckoning call. Firpo, go frig yourself, you WTS Uncle Tom.

Wasn't this the guy who got a "degree" from an internet "college" or through-the-mail college?
