You obviously have thinking ability and can discipline even offer, do i detect, reproof. It would seem that any brain-washing at least for you, would be by choice.

I don't agree with you there. How do you explain the 13 year old who graduates from college? I would say most all of us are not using our full brain potential.
I had a closed head injury in '92. I couldn't work for close to two years. My bio feeback doctor taught me how to raise and lower my body temp with my mind. I feel there is so much we have no clue about concerning our brain/mind.

Well I think the power of the mind is awesome, I just have NO idea how to tap into it.
Some people lose the will to live and they literally die. If it can kill you it can cure you too. Some people fight disease mentally and they do better than people woh have no 'fight' in them.
When i was stopping at my dads in Miami a few years ago there was a story in the Miami Herald about a group of 5 Cubans who had tried to get to Florida on a motor powered raft, taking food and water with them. They were all young and healthy (aged round about early 20's). Before they set off they agreed whatever happened they would not turn back.
After a couple of days the motor engine power died - two of them panicked and argued really strongly to turn back, but eventually decided to carry on. Next day the water bags got punctured. These 5 guys floated for days without water before being picked up. They were all close to death from heat and no water, and the 2 that had argued to turn back subsequently died.
I honestly thought it was something to do with their strength of mind that dictated whether they lived or died, because they had all had the same anount of food, water, heat etc. It made me think 'if I was ill would I be a fighter or a giver upper?'

All fear is mind-based. Certainly that is a power in itself. If you are interested in "paranormal" abilities read Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. But he also cautions that acquiring such abilities is spiritually dangerous because they tend to make one more egotistic.
