I've been sitting here reading the posts and just watched the Shuttle return to flight! As usual an amazing sight! Does anyone else find this as interesting as we do in Florida?

on one of my holidays to florida it coincided with a shuttle launch
but we got held up in traffic...a crash because of the rain
but the launch was postponed because of the rain anyway...

3000 mph is pretty damn fast, but check this out. To get all the way out of Earth's gravity, Escape velocity - the speed necessary to escape Earth's gravity - is 11.2 km/sec! That's cooking!

Well guys and gals, I live very near the Cape and often watch from the beach not to far from my home....today I watched out the window, across my back yard.
Maybe we should have an apostafest and you all could come down......we could plan it around a lauch and hope for the best! The night lauches are awesome and they usually go up when planned!
