More and more of the "Alternative" therapies are being added to the NHS, but it's piecemeal, and has regional variation. Hypnotherapy and Accupuncture are two good examples.
As an NHS Manager (who works long hours, and thus feels obliged to take regular breaks to post on this site ) I'm attempting to improve Psychotherapy and Counselling services under the umbrella of Mental Health (which I'm currently responsible for, in our region).
There's a push to provide more of these kind of services in the Primary Care setting (e.g. through your local GP Doctor, rather than at Hospitals, or completely unregulated on the open market).
On an aside, I grin like a Cheshire cat when I hear passive-aggressive statements to the effect that I must be mentally ill to be a "believer". I would have been sectioned very quickly and long ago, by my colleagues, if that were the case
