I will give you an example of what I mean.....Two 'sisters' were gone away for the day and they were doing some shopping...there was a used clothing store and it was called something like "The Church Corner"...keep in mind it was not an old church, nothing religious about it AT ALL. But one of the 'sisters woulgn't go into it because of the name!!! So do any of you have stories like that???

To the point where I wouldn't watch Space Ghost because I thought it was demonized

Not very I guess... enough to make it a very emotional anxiety ridden exit, but not enough to keep me from many things "forbidden" as I was growing up.

I remember once, I had gone into the Salvation Army Thriftstore, and bought a jacket for my daughter, and when I told a "sister" where I had purchased it, she was appalled and told me that I had just supported Christendom....I told her that if she would like to buy my child a jacket, then I'd gladly take it back......she just stared at me like I'd committed the gravest of sin.

It's sad how brainwashed I was. At one point I actually quit watching football because our CO said it was too violent a sport for Christians. It was always stuff like that. I would throw out my favorite CD because they swore, or get rid of my favorite jeans because they had a rip and that wasn't proper attire for a JW.

Sometimes it is just hard not to be mad about it anymore. I think I'm over the majority of it 3 years later but, I know some of the brainwashing still remains even though I don't want it to.

I wouldn't wear or buy a sweater with a flag on it or anything that the JW's condemned. Wouldn't dare put that baseball cap backwards.

I wouldn't put a Radio Station sticker on my bumper thinking that it was worldly.

    Oh, and so much more....

    Good one Delilah,

I bet that shut her up and I'm sure she didn't reach for her pocketbook.

My parents wouldn't let me watch John Waters movies, because they were 'cult' films. HA!

Brainwashing is an act of will.

My will didn't give a flying f*ck either way.
