Umm, defd? Aren't you taught to avoid contact with apostates? That apostate web sites and the web in general is evil, and the devil's tools? Doesn't Jehovah know all things, therefore know you are disobeying his chosen organization's leadership? I'm just asking, I'm not even a JW, so maybe I've got it wrong.

Forget it.....He won't answer you, a few of us have asked a bunch of times and not got a straight answer yet!

thats what the Day Adventist believe. i never knew how close they were to the jws. they leave alot of things open to conscience which is good.

they believe in the trinity which i dont really think is a big point anyway. Christmas and hell is the same. I'm suppose to have more information coming they said in a couple of days. thanks evil

I hate to break it to you, but if you did study other religions you'd QUICKLY realize that JWs DON'T have it closer than most religions. They are actually very far away. But that's the rub: when you exit dubland, the last thing you want to do is study religion. This group is nothing like Christ's teachings here on earth. Nothing. Study the bible. Borrow books from the library. Read whatever you can get your hands on. You'll realize there is not a perfect or true religion out there, but you will realize the JWs are pretty far off the mark.

I agree 100%,you took the words outta my mouth!

Another thing to keep in mind during your research: careful just reading what a religion believes. A lot of people can read what the JWs say they believe by their marketing pamphlets. But life as a JW can sometimes be very different, as you might know. For instance, the new blood policy: It's supposed to be a matter of conscience to take blood fractions, but when it comes down to it, many brothers will feel very uncomfortable with actually doing it because they know elders in their hall press their agenda with the old policy. "Open to conscience" could mean, "We'll let you make your own decision, but if you don't do it the way we want you to, then you'll be punished for it."

Do not answer anyone stupid according to his foolishness, that you yourself also may not become equal to him. Answer someone stupid according to his foolishness, that he may not become someone wise in his own eyes.

If you truly believed as Jehovah's Witness dogma dictates, that apostates and those who fellowship with apostates are to be avoided at any and all costs, can you truly be here and not rake fire into your proverbial bosom, as well as a hold a proper conscious before the Jehovah that you all serve in the Kingdom Hall? Can you truly and effectively walk on both sides of the street at the same time? You are either for the God that is worshipped in the Kingdom Hall, or you are not. Am I wrong?

prophecor being here is one of the smallest things i do wrong and i dont consider this wrong anyway. i think that if a jw is strong in their beliefs then this place wont hurt them any but only help them for any future contact they might have in fieldservise.

me personally am not religious at the time any more and i do believe in god i was just stating that as far as i know the jws are right. if i was to get reinstated i would have to change so many things that it would take along time.

now my question was what other religions dont believe in hell and think the earth will be a paradise again? just give me a name and ill look it up myself and the test i took evil came back 100% on the jws.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong and I'm not asking to get judged myself i just wanted to know what other people believed instead of not believing i know what religion you guys dont like tell me the ones you do like if you would.

It's your spirituality so you should take charge and do your research IMHO.

This is really what I was trying to say. Thanks for making it so succint and clear.

    Not the Admin,

Hi, me again. I was brought up a catholic and converted to a seventh day adventist and baptised by immersion in my teens. After several years, I worried about the non scientific doctrines, but mostly about their messenger (they did not quite call her a prophet) Ellen G White. I later found out she was not quite what she had claimed to be. The JWs were an offshoot of adventists and so inherited much that was false about adventists.

At least the adventists display genuine Christian love, although like the JWs are clearly wrong on important beliefs. At present I have no reigion but Christianity, although I may one day worship with others again.

Instead of Amazon, get the Franz book from: http://www.commentarypress.com/booklist-eng.html If you follow this link you can read a whole chapter on line. If you pm me an email address I can email you a file containing my research in the last 9 months.

I wish you well, the truth will set you free.

As a JW you should read the 2 Ray Franz books first. Then I read a non denominational overview of Christianity:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/034085961X/qid=1122941787/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_8_1/202-9610847-2603032

Both adventists and Christadelphians are very close to JW beliefs, they are the religions the JWs inherited doctrines (including wrong 'uns) from. Not for me, but if you want something similar to JWs have a look.

Please pm me with an email address if you want a copy of my correspondence & research with JWs (a word file)

Well, I'm glad to wake to a new day downunder and see this thread which has gone completely off-topic.

As far as the title, Else, you should know better!

    LT's comment is appropriate:

We've all dealt with some level of cognative dissonance, at some point. It's overwhelming enough without being battered by a mob...
