Well seems like i should introduce myself istead of reading everybody elses posts!
I've just started trawling through all the backlog of varied posts and think there are some very interesting characters and views. (Those aposta fests are unbelievable man!)
My humble story seems quite famliar... Was brought up in the org since age 2; and grew up a witness as No.2 of 5 kids, each who've 'fallen by the wayside' as we've grown into our own individuals. I held off getting baptised until the ripe age of 19, amongst the worrying trend of my peers taking the plunge in their early teenage years,( it feels like i was the only one in the baptism pool changing room with pubes!) I think i was always viewed a little warily because of my late decision, but still very popular within the org. I married my witness buddy when i was 20 then reluctantly gave the 'truth' a go being that it was my new husbandly responsibility! Although i was frustrated having to lead a double life because i new fine well this religious shit wasn't for me. That lasted about 3 years before i decided to leave, followed by the wife, and the marraige gave out about 6 months after that. She left me, which i was proper gutted about but when i look back i can only admire her courage as it was completely the right thing to do. Very tumultuous time but we remained good friends throughout.
I've since completely grew into the person i always knew i was, with very definate views and tastes, neither of which i was allowed to follow before . I've got an amazing mutualy respecting group of friends - real friends not the conditional friends that the org can only permit. I've got an amazing lifestyle that i can choose the direction of, and i thank myself for providing myself with this absolute freedom to do and think what 'I' want. Brilliant, that is a fundamental human right, and one i missed out on.
Wow, this has really gone on. I'll leave it there before i crash the site!

Good work anyway kids, i'm sure you provide a lot of help and support to those who want it.
    Peace out...
