Hey Tetra....I've liked you many posts on evolution. Youz one smart cookiey! LOL

Have you ever thought about putting together a 14 or 20 page brief on evolution? You could publish it on a web page or whatnot so we could always have it handy. My personal belief (even when I was a Dub) was that God created the big bang and evolution took over from there. If only my parents could see my 10th grade biology argument that argued for BOTH creation and evolution. But my point is....evolution was never that "big" of an issue for me so didn't really dig into it as deeply as you (and others) have. When I now debate with other Creationist A**holes it'd be nice to have a reference of "non-professional" type writings.

    What say you y'all?

But Tetra is an angry and vengeful god, if you do not make your sacrifices to him and bow down before him, woe to you and your offspring, for he will reach out from cyberspace and smash your cookies in the crushing grip of logic and reason.

    thanks! that's a nice compliment!

i am currently writing three essays. "Why I am no longer a Jehovah's Witness", "Why I am no longer a Christian" and "Why I am an Atheist". (borrowed middle title from Bertrand Russell )

the essay on no longer being a JW will have a lot of stuff on evolution vs. creationism, because that was the main thing that started my deconversion. it will actually be my main focus, as i find that the doctrine craziness (607/1914) doesn't really matter to me much once evolution is addressed with them. and since there are many christians who hold evolution to be true, there is no use putting anything about evolution in that essay. and JW's borrow a lot from other creationist apologists, so you will find much useful info in the JW essay for debating with creationists in general. actually, i intend to include a bunch of creationist arguments that the JWs don't use officially. i am trying to make the language and technical points as user friendly as possible.

i know that a lot of it has already been done, by AlanF and others. but it's fun to cut one's teeth anyways. in the meantime, you could use:

    AlanF: http://www.geocities.com/osarsif/index2.htm

    SNG: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/91134/1531877/post.ashx#1531877

talkorigins.org: anything from there, or JW specific: http://talkorigins.org/faqs/jw-evolution.html (Alan), http://talkorigins.org/faqs/jw-book.html

i will make a thread with the links to the essays when i am done. but i will PM you too in case you miss it.

    cheers,

    TS
