I figured that no one can put you in that position unless they let you, so as a girl i would walk in and will not let anyone push me around, I am a strong defender of womens rights! IF they don't like it then that is just too bad!

It is good to hear you are a defender of woman rights. It was one of the things I always dislike (the inequality) in the JW organisation.
However I do not think you can see it as a right of woman to give a public talk or so. Morally maybe, legally not.

Sigh I love giving speeches, I can stand up there and talk for ever! lol I am generally a quiet person but that is a completly different story when it comes to public speaking and debating

There is not much you could do about it, but would be fun, if you would step on the stage and started with your talk. Invide me then, that is someting I want to see

Well if its true that the Jehovah's Witnesses abuse childrens and womens rights then there is no way i will join, not an Armageddon or Paradise earth will work on me!

yes there is child abuse with the JW's. So is there with the catholics by the way.....

I don't think the Catholic church approves of it at all though nor does it support it.

Discipline and Child abuse seems much more common in the jw religion, I have never seen any of it at the Catholic church in my area, nor have I've heard any stories of it happening, the strange thing is though if the Catholic church was to slip up once or if one out of a million catholic priests is a petifile it gets all over the news and puts the Church in bad light, but the Jehovah's Witnesses seems to get under the radar and gets away with much more then the Catholic church ever will.

But if I ever do see child abuse in the Catholic Church, i'd most likely do something about it, same goes if I ever visit a Kingdom hall.

LMAO!!! If i ever do become a Jehovah's Witness (apart from the fact that i'd most likely get Disfellowshipped in the first 5 minutes) I would be darn persistant on giving a speech, i'd annoy the elder until he either Disfellowships me or lets me give a speech! lol

So do the JW's, they do not approve or support it.
That have some stupid rules however that work in the favour of abusers, and it happens that child abuse is not reported etc.

I am not so sure about this. I do not know this. I think there aren't much hard statistics around to prove or disprove it.
We had here quite a lot of scandals involving sexual abuse of catholic priests. In teh states there were a lot. There seem to be a lot of cases where no reports are made and the church has covered up.

About discipline, if it is right or wrong, and how much is ok, this is another subject.

But if I ever do see child abuse in the Catholic Church, i'd most likely do something about it, same goes if I ever visit a Kingdom hall.

Same goes for me. Never seen any child abuse though in KH.

I can tell you what will happen first.
by the way woman can give speaches, but not solo. They have to do their speach in the form of a demonstration with a householder. So that they are not teaching directly. (strange approach I agree).

*** Watchtower 1963 Aug 15 p.497 Each One Will Render an Account ***

8 All children of Adam need correction, and at times firm discipline requires the rod, in the administration of pain. "Foolishness is tied up with the heart of a boy; the rod of discipline is what will remove it far from him." (Prov. 22:15) Jehovah's discipline is thus not a watered-down discipline such as that advised by some worldly authorities who would always hold back the rod. But the literal rod is what is basically meant at Proverbs 23:13, 14: "Do not hold back discipline from the mere boy. In case you beat him with the rod, he will not die. With the rod you yourself should beat him, that you may deliver his very soul from Sheol itself." At times, then, a parent will need to speak to the child by the administration of pain. This pain, God's Word assures us, is not going to kill the child; but it will have beneficial effects, protective benefits for the child, protecting "his very soul from Sheol."

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but does this sound right for a door to door JW?

    Hello,

There is so much poverty in our world today don’t you agree?

In fact most of the world population does not live the life style we live, many go to bed hungry or fall asleep shivering from the cold.

Today poverty remains a harsh reality with civil war, floods, droughts and other problems.

There is a lack of employment and many struggle to find a job, this resulting in a life of crime.

Many of these people are depressed and feel hopeless and sometimes results in suicide.

Yet many ask, does God not see this? We are in desperate need of help!

Well there is a comforting answer to that

We once lived in a paradise, Adam and eve did in genesis chapter 2 verses 7-23

Belief in a new paradise in a new world without poverty is not just a dream. It is solidly based on the promises in the bible.

    You hear that wonderful news?

Jehovah/God promises us in the bible that things are going to be better in the future!

See this Watchtower magazine I have here? Look at this picture wouldn’t you love to live in this lifestyle? Wouldn’t it be nice to live together happily on a paradise earth?

    Here take this magazine…

By the way, would you be interested in a free home bible study?
