I've always loved his music, and was shattered that there was so little of it, due to his untimely death at 33. Now I've just discovered his music with the gospel group the Soul stirrers. I'm so stoked. It's fantastic. Phenomenal. Makes me wanna jump up and down. Wow.

Avishai, I know what you mean.
I find myself steadily going back to performers taken too soon from us, many years ago.
Real gems, superb singers/songwriters with a knack for moving us.
Once in awhile, I will tune-in to one of our local oldies AM station, and there'll be a feature on a singer/performer that died many, many years ago. Yesterday, it was all about Elvis.
But, other nights, it'll be about singers from the 'golden era'. Also folks from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Some I knew, some I did not. But hearing their songs, made me want to go back.....and rediscover them.
So many good ones have gone. But, the nice thing is: their music lives on.
You just proved it.

Otis Redding died at 26.
I love 60's soul music .. Otis and Sam Cooke were two of the best.. Too bad that so many of my musical heroes died young
