I've been going to District Conventions for decades (I've even had parts) and I still don't understand why we have to sing so many songs. It really irritates me.

Songs are supposed to be praise to God
Gives some relief from the boredom
Gets the blood circulating in the legs after sitting for so long.

Well, actually, dmouse, those of us who attended were quite surprised--we, too, thought, this talk would be 100% that, but apostates and their stories were barely mentioned, if at all. Guess the FDS does not feel too endangered by UN, abuse scandal, et al, at least for this year.

I still don't understand why we have to sing so many songs. It really irritates me.

I always liked the songs....it sounded so pretty when so many people sang....and when the baptism song was (darn I threw all my songbooks away too no I'm not sure what the name was) I think it was "To God We Are Dedicated" I always had a tear in my eye.......
