Do you believe the Society will just stay on automatic pilot or do you think some "new lite" is in store for Witnesses?

607 BCE but still somehow keep 1914 as a significant year

I think that they will continue easing up on the blood policy, but never letting it go completely.

JH, I too think the blood issue will be muddled enough to confuse even the GB!

I think they will soon have to start promoting women. First the worker duties, running the sound amplifier, delivering the microphones to commentors, and reading at meetings. Women can already conduct meetings if no approved men are there. They will likely have to wear a beanie.

Gary, that would be quite interesting!

I'd love to see women allowed to give #2 and #4 talks. Those fake "talks" they'd give just always seemed so demeaning. If they can comment at the WT study, why can't they talk for 5 minutes from the platform?
As far as abandoning, I think the precedent has already been set and maybe they will sooner than later say something more to the effect that unbelievers or unbaptised persons that lead moral lives and live in the household of at least one good JW can survive Armageddon.

They'd never give a carte blanche for unbaptized ones. Either you've got the "mark" or you die.

Now the Society will need to be attentive to damage control and loss prevention. This should be interesting to watch since the Society produces all that damages it and the Witness people themselves are responsible for loss of members.
When the Society quit writing about the Bible and started to write about how the Bible applies to the Watch Tower Corporation(s), they lost much appeal. They went from Bible believing to self believing. They went from being believers in God to being believers in a printing business. A few current members have noticed the switch and do not agree or appreciate it. New members notice the bait and switch methods of current recruitment strategy and many say goodbye.
I think it's interesting to see the old attitude about college reappearing. We can see it's the conservatives who are back in power at Bethel. Much more control being used now. It's like the 1980 purge without the purge. In 1980 it was purge then splurge. Now since we have seen the HUGE new facilities built and dedicated at Wallkill and Patterson it might be splurge and now purge. -

The "new light" doctrine.
