The New York Daily News reports that a woman used her cellphone to catch a man performing a "lewd act" on himself to get his jollies. She put his pic on the internet and reported the incident of indecent exposure to the NYPD.

I have a Verizon cell and a landline phone. I would like to discontinue the landline for expense and space; however, my cell is always on the blink and I have to use my landline to call and fix/repair/buy new one. When the damn thing don't work, how am I going to call the support number? This has happened several times.

USA - Cingula, kind of a love / hate relationship and a Motorolla quad band phone so I can make / receive calls out of the US however receiving calls out of the US is problematic, especially in Mexico. I do have discounted international calling so I get good rates although calling Mexico from the US is 9 cents a minute whilst calling canada is 19 cents, go figure! I also have free long distance and free (after 7pm) nights and weekends.
In Mexico I have a Nokia phone with video and camara and have Movistar prepaid service, text messages are a bit cheaper than Tel Cel (8 cents +iva versus 10 cents) but sometime I wonder how they bill as if I don't spend 300 pesos a month and get the discounts my credit drains fast for long distance calls (within Mexico) and calling the US is insanely expensive although only 70 cents a minute from my US cell phone.
For those who want to call between the US and Mexico, there is a great prepaid calling card found at www.samsungcallingcards.com. If you buy the $35.00 (USD) card, you can call to or from Mexico for 3.5 cents a minute, even from Mexican pay phones, such a deal as prior I'd use a ladatel card and pay 30-40 cents a minute.
OH AND VERY IMPORTANT:
Don't buy your phone from your provider. Best to buy an unlocked phone on ebay so if you change service providers, you don't need to buy a new phone. You just put in the new chip instead of overpaying for a phone and getting locked into a 1 or 2 year contract for a discount off of a high priced phone. This is a big scam in the USA. Also if you travel internationally you can get a chip for the country you are in and make calls. -

Land line. Basic service with local longdistance only. Runs about $28 per month including all sur-charges, taxes and the occasional LD phonecall to Kev's parents. We use a calling card for long distance calls, which we seldom make.
Internet service is dialup at $16 per month with Net Zero highspeed.
So, for $44 dollars per month we have what we need.

Elsewhere
I only have a cell phone... a Nokia 6600... and I have not had a land-line phone for at least five or six years.
When I need to talk to someone overseas for a long time I usually just use the Yahoo! Chat or MSN Chat system with a headset.

it has no camera which is fine by me, but yesterday I saw a woman on the shoulder of the highway snapping a photo of her fender bender w. her camera phone. I can see how they would come in handy.
my plan is with cingular. verizon could not keep up with my relocating and still calls me once in awhile clueless about my prior contract with them and how yes it is expired and no i did not break the contract early. it was a mess and i have concluded that they do not have a proper inner-communications systems in place.
i have not had a land line since 2001 and i'm not sure why anyone still does. its sooo 20th century. hehe.
