Looks like this one will test the theory of whether or not New Orleans can survive a direct hit from a hurricaine. Of course, I hope the theory is wrong. But I'm very afraid it's not.

I looks like most people are trying to evacuate to Houston and the highways are gridlock going West.
Instead of going West you should just go North or even North East. You only need to be 100 miles inland to be very safe... hell even 50 miles inland is reasonably safe.

You're making the right decision. Sustained winds are now at 175 M.P.H. That is the equivalent of an F-3 tornado. Storm surge may be 30 feet high. Stay safe all of you in New Orleans.
