Predictions for the Ashes

  OK - it's England leading 2-1 in the Ashes series. With one more match remaining.
  
  England is having good luck with winning the tosses, which makes sense as tossers should be good at tossing.
  
  I heard the latest Cricket chant favoured by the English supporters when Australia take the field:
  "Are you Scotland in disguise?"
  
  Anyway I predict the Aussies will win the last match, this ensuring they retain the Ashes for another 2 years. England will choke and let the victory slip through their fingers.

  Five days of 'British weather' should clinch it for England

  No idea what'll happen if they have to play. I think it makes it more exciting when it's this close though - both sides are 'winners' in a sense because this series has raised the profile of the sport massively

  I haven't actually seen a 'long range' forecast, but we're in a warm phase at the moment so should be due some heavy rain sometime soon! I'll try do some checking for you!

  i think that there will never be a more consistent hope on the part of a whole country..(with the possible exception of 'africa' )...that it rains for 5 days..

  if it doesnt i think the ozzies may well be stung into actually putting in a performance

  either way...there is no doubt that this whole series...1 dayers and tests have been about as exciting as sport gets

  imo any sport that goes right down to the wire makes for compulsive viewing..regardless of who wins in the end

  (and i think this series has been played in the best of spirits from both teams...even the poor decisions have been accepted (after the initial disappointment)...i love to see the bowlers when they bat being hit by bouncers from their opposite numbers and taking it all with a smile...then hitting them for 6)

  I don't think England can rely on the weather. Here is the forecast:

  I think that Australia will rally and win the next match to secure a draw. That is purely based on my pessimistic nature, not any sporting expertise.
