  It's always good to see people speaking their minds, especially when its controversial and in opposition to the man. I particularly enjoy it. Here this musician is clearly taking this opportunity and his celebrity clout as an open forum to express his opinions on what he feels has been a real social injustice.

  But with celebrities there is almost always another agenda. And sure enough, just like Paris notoriously skanky Hilton and the "accidental" release of her scandalous sex tape coinciding with her new televisions show, West is currently promoting a new album.

  Truth or no truth to his words, one things clear...neither he nor his would be nemesis are what I would call articulate public speakers. They may have more in common than he thinks.

  Okay Sara, fair enough - maybe I did misconstrue your point.

  But here was my line of reasoning ... Kanye states Bush doesn't care about black people. My view, as posted, was Kanye speaks the truth. You post that he said "Bush hates black people" and that it didn't ring of truth. First off, you didn't quote him correctly, and you disagreed with his point. I continued on using Kanye's word care to offer a comparison of caring leaders, since you made the correlation between care and hate.

  No, you're right - I don't see where you said you supported Bush. But your opposition to Kanye's statement in my view implied it. My main point was to recognize Kanye's statements, however inarticulate, as representing the truth from many American's point of view.

  Sorry if my interpretation of our exchange was off the mark.

  If the people on the news are blacks committing crimes then I suppose the media is 'racist' for unfair video of blacks committing crimes? Let's go on with the general idea. You think that because the people who did not leave the city are black, then the federal response and Bush was slower than it would be for whites? What a ridiculous stand to take. If you research Yahoo news for Aug. 29th you will see that New Orleans had thought they 'dodged the bullet'. Still, there were several moves made by the Bush administration (reported by the Christian Science Monitor) PRIOR to the landfall of the hurricane that set the possible response machinery in gear, otherwise the response would have been even slower! Mow, add to that the fact that local police are supposed to handle the troublemakers while the National Guard concentrates on relief efforts. The local commanders did not know that the police force had lost as much as 2/3 of its strength (I'll bet they had a real good local union though!!LOL) immediately after all the flooding began. Knee jerk liberlism always has the blame placed everywhere except where it belongs.
