Great reply. I would love to hear if that person responds. I bet they don't have the guts.

Good job, Terry. You said it well.

Terry, I didn't read everything, but while you were in, the GB was the board of directors of the WTS, no? You probably mentiond that. I need more sleep.
I had a JW tell me once, "Oh you've been out of the "truth" so long you don't know how it is now. Everything has changed."
I have to reply, "The TRUTH changes?" with a wondering tone in my voice.
These people don't think because they no longer can.

Sample hate mail Danny Haszard gets:
"Since this message is going to Wbtscultbusters, and it is sent
concerning
Jehovah's Witnesse; I think that you are hitting too close to home.
What I mean is that I am one of Jehovah's witnesses, but I am not
a member of the WTBTS, but I have to say that neither
Jehovah's Witnesses nor the WBTS have anything to do with
Silent Lambs. They are a group that is contrary to
Jehovah's Witnesses.
So cease using our name in any of your messages
especially since your messages are a lie and a distortion of the
truth. You try to lure people to read your messages
and your site. But you do not tell them that you
are a terrorist. And you are just seeking to hurt people."" -

The truth changes???
I would have loved to have seen the look on its face.

There would be no Watchtower Magazine and no Kingdom Hall and no door to door work if it was not forcefully directed by the men who run the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society under the false pretense of representing their human opinions as the DIRECTIONS of king JESUS as he heads up Jehovah's operations earthwide.
This paragraph, imo, is perfectly expressive of getting to the very incisive heart of why Jehovah's Witness, Inc. exists. Love the way you expressed it. (You must have done VERY well in the Theocratic Ministry School!) Terri

Terry,
We have just been onto the Freeminds site and read your story. We found it to be very sad, but so pleased that sanity has prevailed. Although we have never had to suffer the hardships of prison and all that that may have brought, we have certainly had to suffer the total disallusionment and brain washing of the Org. All of those wasted years!, that is something that we find hard to come to terms with. My wife's parents (not JWs) are still alive and she is able to try to repair all the damage done over thirty years (birthdays, family get-togethers etc.) whereas in my case, My parents died before I saw the WT for what it really is (a mind-controlling cult) and Disassociated because of the UN involvement etc. You have put into words the way that we have felt since coming out of the Org. and we can relate to many of the things that you have mentioned.
We find all of your topics interesting and very well thought out, it seems that you have been able to put your life back into some order. Thanks for sharing with us on this Forum.

No ex-JW ever gets the time back they wasted loitering in the Armageddon flypaper. However, making sense of it has become my pastime. For many former Witnesses I fear they go from frying pan to fire because they have the same brain with them that got them into the Watchtower nonsense and remain even more vulnerable to manipulations.
I see a core of mystical belief systems at work alot here on JWD which is defended tooth and nail. Mystical thinking disables the rational mind and allows infilitration of your values system. I always like to say the transition from being reasonable and rational into being Mystical comes at the crossroads of:
"I KNOW" and "THEY SAY".
I've expended much effort personally reconstructing my thinking processes. I bristle at the mystical as it is deadly. As you say "putting my life back in some order" had to start with my brain software.
I thank you for your kind words and welcome you here on JWD.
