Danny,
Gas prices in Europe are twice as high as in the US, but you must have got something wrong. Unless by "driving to work" you meant you're a farmer driving your little tractor to the field and plowing all day long ;-)

We pay about $600 total for both our vehicles... She puts about $75 per week in her truck and I put about $50 per in mine then we usually take one trip a month to orlando or cedar key so thats usually another $75-150 right there...

My work is 150 km.I just drive a small car, but a bit old. About 1 lietr 10 to 11 km. So 300 - 350 km a day, that means 30+ liter / day.
That is 45 euro, or 55 $ / day. Times 22 days it's around $1200

My wife and I spend around $100 a month on gas, including driving to work and around town on errands. Move closer to work people.

Yes well thats not really an option for everyone jeep...
$100 will get me about 30 gallons of gas at 13mpg that will get me 390 miles that means I can drive from the northside of jacksonville to the southside 10 times... That ain't gonna cut it! I'm happy that you live in podunk usa and can walk to work. I don't...

I drive an SUV which gets about 15 mpg. I spend about $400-$500 a month on gas. $1200 seems a bit much. Are you sure your conversion is correct?
I am getting a new car that gets much better gas mileage. My love affair with the SUV is over until the price of gas goes down.

With the crappy job I've got now I'm lucky to bring home $1,200 per month. That's insane.
Right now I'm paying between $40 and $50 per week, and that's pushing my budget.
