    Now appears that gunmen were shooting at the army and the police shot the gunmen.

    NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six of them, a deputy chief said.

    Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said the shootings took place on the Danziger Bridge, which connects Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.

    He said he had no other details.

    They have not said they were army contractors for sure just yet. Until the facts are in roomers will abound. The facts should be more clear in a few hours. There is a lot going on right now and this is just one of the many situations being dealt with.
