Seems I remember an important organization dude dropping dead while giving a talk in Hawaii.

For some reason I remember my dad talking about that. At a circuit or district assembly? It was just a few years ago? My folks live in Hawaii.

    Yes.

We now have a recently ex-elder and ex-regular-pioneer that without any signs just up and separated. The rumor is that he's filing for divorce already.

No apparent reason. They still give comments at the meetings and seem so very happy both of them.

Strange. Plain strange. Quite the example for young couples that struggle to keep the marriage together, because in case you all didn't know, marriage takes a lot of work to make it work.

When I was about 4 or 5, at a book study things were grinding to a close. The conductor asked "Does anyone have any more announcements?" I raised my hand and was called on....why, I have no idea....

I puffed up proudly and announced to the group...."My dad got me a new Tonka truck!" Everyone was rolling.

I also was in a congregation that was dissolved by the C.O. because our territory was so hard hearted that our 2 elders and 1 mini-servant were "being wasted on the area." We then had to drive nearly 45 minutes each way to and from meetings.

When I was the PO in the congregation a sister asked to talk to the elders. She was married to a worldly man and he had used a light bulb as a sex toy and it had broke inside her. She had to go to the hospital to have it removed and she was afraid we would hear about this. We didn't give any advice, just told her that we hoped she would be ok. We didn't even ask what wattage the bulb was.

At the hall I used to go to there was a tiny apartment in the basement. It wound up being rented to an elder from another congregation. He was married and they had 1 teenaged daughter. The parents slept in the bedroom and the daughter slept on a hide-a-bed in the living room.

I thought it was weird that they rented it out to this family. The girl had no privacy at all. They never moved into the territory. And there was an elderly special pioneer couple who had both gone to Gilead. I could never understand why the apartment was not rented to them.

Oh and the wife of the elder was an alcoholic. Booze was often delivered to the back door of the hall. Sometimes even when we were having our meeting!!! If we were sitting on the left side of the hall during the meeting we could see the booze coming in.

LADY LEE,WAS THAT ELDER EVER REPROVED because wouldn't delivering alcohol to a KH give the wrong impression to neighbours?

I always wanted to tell someone about this.

When I was about 12 or so, my dad had a bible study with a man that was retarded. After awhile, my dad started picking this man up and bringing him to the meetings. He would sit front row center and sometimes say weird things kinda mumbling to himself. I was sitting behind him to the side one Sunday afternnon, snot was dripping out of his nose and into his bible sitting on his lap. I just stared in horror.

That afternoon, when my dad got home from taking the retarded man home, he came in the door really upset. Really upset with tears in his eyes.... The elders had told him not to bring the retarded man back
