But I'm sure that if I put a Christmas decoration a few days before Christmas, the holy spirit will lead them to my door...

I don't understand why some get pested so much, while others are completely ignored.

That's what did it for us. We hadn't made a meeting in months, but nobody called, dropped by, nothing. When they got word of our Christmas decorations, they high-tailed to our door. And true to form, once they were able to DF me (we got my wife out of being DF'd by blaming all the decorating/celebrating on me), they've left my wife alone. She hasn't been to a meeting in a year. They didn't even invite her to the Memorial.

I'm not sad, we would very much prefer they ignore us forever. But it's amazing to me that they have abandoned her.

It's hit-and-miss. I figure a few things can set the elders off:

JW family members pleading for help to bring you back to the fold.
The CO just came down hard on them about numbers.
An instruction came out to go after "lost sheep"
An overly-zealous bunch of elders in your district.

Also, I am sure some fall through the cracks:

No family in.
They lost your card.
You are a woman.
They never really wanted to share Paradise with you anyways.
An overly-lazy bunch of elders in your district.
