I think our responses (ranging from calmly reasoned to emotional) can help lurkers clearly see both sides of an issue. Unfortunately though, affter the first page of the thread, sometimes the tone degenerates and nothing is gained.

Secondly, sometimes a good answer given to a Pro-Watchtower post will sometimes get the original poster to shift in their view, even if only a little bit.

I agree with you seymourbutts, I find that to be the case as well. my mom and sisters are all fanatics and they are so easily riled and are so self righteous and at times it so funny because they get so worked up about everything in the organization. If they only knew how beat red they get in the face defending the Governing body and all that other gobbledegoop. Sad really sad.
