i would respond to the landslide of emotion by just letting them say their piece whilst respectfully holding your ground. after they have settled down a bit, just explain that you have a personal paramount obligation to truth and intellectual honesty, and that you can no longer really honestly defend the WTS anymore.

CoolHand - You should really read Franz's books soon. His reasoning is excellent. It helped me to know that someone who had been in the org, and at the level of responsibility that he held, was able to see thru and honestly leave.
He is a bit 'wordy' though. CoC is 440 pages. ISoCF is 700+ pages. Just the same I read both twice. I think I read ISoCF three times. I forget now.

Just a quick warning about "In Search of Christian Freedom": You might have to fight off the emotional urge to become a Christian, post reading. I recommend reading some articles on the Talk Origins website and anything by Carl Sagan in between chapters to fend off this irrational mental crutch.

LMAO. Thanks for the advice. i have so much reading and studying to do. I am confronted with my own issues regarding the existence of God, my own mortality, Christianity vs. other religions, my faded superiority complex and finally the idea that I know nothing.
