So they’ve done it again. Once more the WBTS tries to give the impression that they,or at least Russell and his followers believed in the late 19 th century that Christ would return in 1914. Of course we know that until the mid 1920’s at least they believed and taught that Jesus
    had returned in 1874.

ad not come at that time. ……………There was a waiting period.

23 For how long? During the 19th century, sincere Bible students calculated that the waiting period would end in 1914……. World events that began in 1914 confirm that the calculation of these sincere Bible students was correct. The fulfillment of Bible prophecy shows that in 1914, Christ became King and God’s heavenly Kingdom began to rule.

I asked a Witness friend to read it and then asked if she thought they were saying they believed and taught in the 1800’s that Christ would come in 1914. She said "Yes, that is that that is saying".

another. That’s really what pushed me out.

I just read that part today. I would love to have some of the original mags just to show that isn't what they taught.

    MomOfMany,

You can settle for second best. Read to your heart's content online the early Watch Tower magazines from 1879 until 1916. Go to

Actually, they believed long ago, that Christ returned in 1874, and that 1914 would be the end-point of Bible promises!

Yes, you can read their old publications online. But just to be sure I've bought a few of the old publications such as Studies in the Scriptures and Harp of God. I have seen it with my own eyes in these very old books. I wonder if JWs ever get curious and check out these old books, just to see whether the Watchtower really does re-write history. I think many would be shocked at what they would discover. Is it an overstatement to say modern Watchtowers and other recent books contain blatant lies about the past teachings?

I have THE HARP of GOD.

Pages 240-243 prove the WTBTS is lying about it's past teachings in their new publication.
