They do? All intellectuals (or I should rather say "all people with brains" - as "intellectuals" is a rather complex group, and not all of them are really that "intellectual") see the problems/dangers with organised religion. But if you were to say out loud, both here in Europe and in America, that Islam is shit, and should be outlawed, and while you`re at it, outlaw all the dangerous christian cults too, the liberals and the politically correct wouldn`t hear past the "Islam is shit"-comment, before they started yelling "racists! biggots!"...and that would pretty much be it. The same thing goes for christianity. On a worldwide basis, have you any idea how small this group of atheists/agnostics is? I bet that on a worldwide basis, less than 10% of the human race, are atheists/agnostics. You can`t outlaw something that the whole world is a part of. That`s only the atheists pipedream.

Paragraphs 17 and 18 comment on this but not a mention of the UN, except indirectly: "The wild beast and its image" are symbols of human rulership, which does not acknowledge Jehovah's sovereignty.
But elsewhere the WTS has identified this image of the wild beast as the UN. Looks like the WTS is trying to hide this information or back off from it.

We definately don't agree on this for the most part. Liberals who make the news often have a double standard, they assert that Islam should be respected but routinely trash Christianity in any form. The reason IMO is that Christianity in this country as well in the rest of the western world has asserted itself as the moral authority in life not just socialy but politicaly for many years being very active in government elections and legislation. So it has come to be viewed by the Left as an enemy to be defeated. Where as Islam, until recently, has been quietly operating in the U.S and the west by staying under the radar politicaly.

Your probably right, like 1914 and the Last Generation they're backing away from what I believe to be very correct bible insights. IMO they're losing faith because of the lateness of the hour and are forgetting what Jesus said, " On this account you too prove yourselves ready, because at an hour you do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming."Matthew 24: 44
