I heard it until I was sick of it, this constant litany about refraining from this or that behavior, or activity, or opinion because it might, it just might, stumble someone.

Well, damnit, how many people were stumbled right out of the WTB&TS just because of their behaviors?

How 'bout those of us who were stumbled out because of a low tolerance for hypocrisy?

Or because of a low tolerance for lying?

Or because of a low tolerance for failed prophecy?

Or a low tolerance for medical policies that killed our families or our friends?

Or a low tolerance for unstable teachings that flip-flopped all over the horizon?

Or a low tolerance for hiding, for giving aid and comfort to, for even elevating to positions of authority over us, god-cursed child sex abusers?

Or an unwillingness to march along in lock-step beliefs like cookie-cutter gingerbread men in opposition to the freedom promised by the Son of God?

Who are these bastards who dare claim to speak for God and then attempt to put us all in their bondage, who would drag us back into the dim and distant spiritual past and abandon us there to do nothing but sell their god-damn double-dipping cheap publications and call it ministry to God?

WHO THE HELL AT BORG HEADQUARTERS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR STUMBLING THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS - MILLIONS - OF THEIR OWN FOLLOWERS? And these same sons of bitches knowingly intone darkly about how wearing a beard, for instance, might "stumble" someone???!!!!

I say the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is the Sistine Chapel of Supercharged Stumbling and I say fuck 'em.

I have some choice words for those bastards, but I dare not utter them. Might stumble someone.

Fred, it's my policy not to lower myself enough to respond to you; when you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. However, I'm going to make an exception in this case, since you've outdone yourself this time in the "more dense than a block of lead" department.

Neither I, nor anyone else here, claims perfection. However, when an organization arrogates to itself the position as "the only channel of communication God is using" to communicate to the entire human race, then you're damned right I expect perfection. I certainly don't expect the characteristic failings noted in the original post.

Now, did you get that? Claims to speak for God? God is perfect? Therefore God's mouthpiece must be perfect? Or did that simple statement not penetrate your thick, illiterate skull?

The Watchtower Society does not claim perfection. Plus, Jehovah many sinners in the past to get his word out.

Valid points. We have touched this subject before, and I think it's an important one as well. What were the reasons we really did leave the Watchtower? Simon made a poll on that subject a while back, and maybe he can post the results here?

Personally I believe, and I believe this because that's the reason I've noticed many of the people I've spoken to has given, the most important issue is the dishonesty of the Watchtower Society.

I don't think "religious" issues matter, since anyone has the right to believe whatever he wants - no matter how "stupid" that might be. But what really is a pain, both for the Witchpower and their mindless followers, is the fact the Society itself is dihonest. We could rightfully call it an International Crime Syndicate!

The false prophecy is a pain as well - and even more so when doctrine changes back and forth.

God has told the remnant that..... Then God changes his mind, and "new light" arrives. After a few more yars, God changes his mind again, and the "New light" on the latest new light is that the Old Light that was New Light the first time is actually the "Correct Light" - and the "New Light" of today!

This results in the funny stuff that someone that was disfellowshipped for not accepting "Jehovah's Interpretation" really was disfellowshipped for believeing the same as Jehovah ACTUALLY did believe.

It's simply too stupid - and more and more people starts to see this.

What was the stuff that stubled others here?

I think it's good to be Stumbled out of the Borg.
Hell I think it's Great.

But I feel sorry for those who get stumble by the Borg out anything to do with God or his Son, that to me is a crying shame.

I don't feel that I lower myself when I respond to Fred, he a person just like me and although I may not show it I wish only for his welfare even though i might give him a hard time.

However!! Back to the question.

What about the millions of people stumbled out of the Borg by the activities noted above, and too many others to list?

Who is responsible for stumbling these people by gulping down a camel, while these little folk wanted only to strain out a gnat?

By their own actions the WTB&TS is CONDEMNED!!

I'd like to see them prove otherwise.
