I'm a non-JW. Never was. I was introduced to JW-ism about a year ago when a friend of mine told me he's a JW. I thought nothing of it until I started reading into it and asking him questions. It was unbelieveable to me that someone could believe this stuff, but at the same time it's believable because I was caught up in a (non-religious) cult-like organization earlier in life which had many of the same psychological traits. So, it's been my mission to learn as much as I can about WT and JWs so I can try and very subtly convert my friend.
I was raised a Catholic but I'm now agnostic/atheist/non-theist. I still consider myself a Roman Catholic Church apologist because I think the organization is just cool. I'm a libertarian when it comes to politics. More accurately, I'm an anarcho-capitalist. I'm pro-life too.
It's a pleasure to finally post here and be able to participate in a forum that I've been watching for a couple of months.
Legolas,
Excuse the pun, but I thought you wrote:
" Welcome - Pull up a seat and sit on the floor and tell us about your elves!!!!!!"
LOL...Chuckler ....I wish you had 'elves', I would be over there in about two seconds!
Hello All - Never a JW - Had plenty a friendship with people brought up in the "religion" and I am married to a man who was d'fed a few years ago..Used to go to KH when I was a teenager but stuff just wasnt cool with me, so I never went back :).. - They operate on fear and guilt and that was fishy to me
I dont know what to call myself , a christian in the making .. Im working on that, I just recently started reading the bible while I was searching for ways to discourage my husband from going back to the KH..and personally just found a love in that book, that is the best feeling in the world.. - I posted in another thread how this website has pretty much helped me keep my sanity for the past 2 months and figured I should joing and make some associates..
SO Thanks for the welcome :)

haha nicely put... as much as i don't believe the religion, that's exactly how i feel about it. there's something to be said about a rosary hanging from the rearview mirror of any car, and a cross/saint hanging from an italian's neck
