Emerson (That's Me) Urges Forming House Bible Groups To Replace Watchtower

Natas, their having a love for and following Christ is indeed better than their following the Watchtower Society

To those who spoke of the Bible Students, as you say some of those seem hung up on the teachings of Russell. A fellowship looking to Christ does not need to look to the Watchtower or to Russell.

Another point, is that how many meet for a Bible reading is the decision for those doing so. Christ spoke of his being present wherever two or more gathered.

Some congregations in the Bible appear to have quite a bit more than 2-3, possibly 20 or up, but not so many as to lose the love and warmth of closeness in Christ.

Someone said if there's a bunch of baby Watchtowers they might become big Watchtowers. First, if somebody wanted to do that (formed a WT clone) they could have long ago. Secondly, it is a fact that a big Watchtower does already exist and that now a return to Christ is necessarily. This fellowship would be Christ-oriented and led.

Ever notice how Messiahs, or Messiah's spokes-people, abound in hurricane season?

    Must be the weather.

Hello, onacruse. Christ is the one to look to. Go back up and read what I wrote if you doubt it.

Kid-A, you had chosen to read and comment on this particular string, isn't that true? In fact there are many non-Bible commentary strings you can choose from if you prefer on this and the other boards.

Thanks to the writers who wrote some pretty nice comments.

I'm resting then returning to check this string from time to time again.

Emerson, you are meeting a need. I wish all the best for your efforts. By the way, have you looked in to inductive bible study or some other systematic method of study?

I just visited your site and I don't see any members besides yourself. Are you posting your personal studies?

Thanks for the note Mr. Emerson, however I think I will continue to post on whichever threads I choose to. Its called freedom of speech.

Hi, again, kid-A. Certainly feel free to post where you want. I am a great friend of Christian and human freedom in general. Also feel free to drop the "Mr." and call me Joe.

Jgnat, despite the website title of "BibleStudy" I do not feel that a "formal" study of the Bible is required to be a Christian. We can read or listen to it being read and in that sense also be studying it but in a more relaxed informal and enjoyable way.

Still, if some Bible groups wish to have some greater degree of methodology, that is for them to decide. As said, and worth always keeping foremost in mind, those that show what is most necessary, natural and sincere (not pretentious, or shallow) Christian LOVE, will grow, and those that don't will weed themselves out. And, in case you are testing for it, no, I am not familiar with the technical terms you used. [email protected]

An extra note to Jgnat. You asked if I would post names of people I study with and the answer is that I am not FORMALLY studying with people but posting Christian Witness beliefs there so that readers can read what is said on their own and consider if they agree. In this way at least in time thousands may read and quickly agree without ever having to formally study. Also, one can use anonymous yahoo and hotmail-type emails for extra privacy however wished.

True, no one human will ever know for sure, that way, as to how many Christian Witnesses there are beyond the most immediate group/s they may attend, if any, but, then, that is okay as the Bible itself does not require Christians to keep such statistics. God knows, though. Gently by example put do acts of kindness, especially to fellow Christians, and growth will follow most naturally.
