It's time for the fruitages of the spirit... love, joy, peace, mildness, kindness, goodness, long suffering, faith, and self control - doesn't sound like this world's "Christianity" - does it? Did you really miss the references to salvation, Lawrence? I wonder if you know: why is it that in this day and age Christianity can flourish regardless of persecution, yet Hinduism and Islam have to control their own by death (and threats of death) to those make an honest conversion to Christianity? I don't see any such abuses by evangelicals in the civilized world. I do see some taking up arms to defend their neighbors, but that is it. We have no homicide bombers to speak of! Why is it that ex-JWs seem to support any freaky or cultish religion then consistently criticize real Christians?

Your argument is with God, not with me. You are just shooting the messenger. Let me ask you a question, what is 'love of neighbor'? IF you saw your neighbor getting beaten would you intervene? Now, if your neighborhood was invaded by gangs would you want the police to stop them and would you defend your family? How about if it were your community, your nation, someone elses nation, France vs Germany, England vs Germany, Japan vs China, Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, NEW YORK CITY and how about setting 35 million Iraqis free to run their own country without a murderous bully killing all dissenters?
The fact is this: Christian nations have freed hundreds of millions of their fellow humans while, atheistic socialist and communist regimes have butchered their own and other country's citizens by the hundreds of millions. Your rebellious butt would not last a month in one of those countries or an Islamic one today!

In looking at the condition of the world in general, I would say that it has been spared judgment. You quoted a text that we use to point out the attributes of those who are Christians. Those who have the Holy Spirit indwelling, not just those who claim to be Christian. All of scripture is inspired, not just the parts we agree with. The gospel is an offense to those who are perishing. It is hated because it calls the self-centered and proud to repent.

Tetly, you live in Canada. The land of high taxation, socialized medicine, where civil and religious liberties are restricted through 'hate'thought' legislation. It's like western Europe only more empty, LOL. It might be hard to find any real Christian counselors.
