How Do JWs Misapply The Scriptures???

    It's really simple:

Teddy Jarazc - Well boyz, the internet is causing us to lose followers so we need to take definitive action now.

Dan the Man Sydlik: We can prompt positive actions from the parents of all the rebellious teenagers who defy us by quoting 1 Corinthians 15:33 and urging them to discern the implications involved in allowing these malcontents access to a computer.

They treat the Bible as a single contiguous book with themselves as the primary audience.

What I mean by this, is that a collection of works by a common author doesn't become ONE book with a central theme just because they have been bound together.

Of course, the JW's are hardly alone in this. Most fundies seem to believe that interpretive rules (e.g. "A day for a year") established for one book of the Bible should be applied unilaterally.

Although the WTS tries to pinpoint a year, it disregards these scriptures.

    *** Rbi8 Matthew 24:36 ***

    36

"Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

    ***

    Rbi8 Matthew 24:50 ***

    50

the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know,

    ***

    Rbi8 Matthew 25:13 ***

    13

"Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU know neither the day nor the hour.

    ***

    Rbi8 Matthew 24:42 ***

    42

Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming.

    *** Rbi8 Mark 13:33 ***

33 Keep looking, keep awake, for YOU do not know when the appointed time is.

    *** Rbi8 Mark 13:32 ***

32 "Concerning that day or the hour nobody knows, neither the angels in heaven nor the Son, but the Father.

    *** Rbi8 Luke 12:46 ***

46 the master of that slave will come on a day that he is not expecting [him] and in an hour that he does not know,

How about: Jesus "said to them: It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction". (Acts 1:7)

If Rita fizzles out, Bible prophecy is on the mark.

John 6:67 Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also wish to go away?" 68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; 69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

The WTS always apply this scripture to try to coerce people into staying when it does not apply to any religion at all but God's son; as if Jesus and the organization were one and the same thing.
