Hey Almost,
What does scripture say in Romans 3:10? Paul uses Old Testament to expound on the teaching of inherited sin. Kennedy is honestly establishing a Christian belief that is backed up by the word of God. It doesn't matter one bit that you are offended or indifferent. We are not to compare ourselves to each other and say, "I am better than that person", which is exactly what you are doing. We are to compare ourselves to God the son. When we do that, we are each found wanting: none of us are good!
THAT is why Jesus came to die, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten son that we should not perish but have eternal life." We can have Christ not only cover (atonement) but remove (propitiation) our sin and the debt we could never pay is paid in full! Yes, God let the human race continue in its sin but then He PAID THE PRICE HIMSELF. All we have to do is accept the sacrifice (Rom. 10: 9-11) and live not for ourselves but for a higher standard, through Jesus Christ.
"We are saved by grace, through faith and not that of ourselves. It is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone boast." Eph. 2:8-9. Do you want to see justice? I don't. I would rather see grace in my life. This is a foundational truth.
Do you know that each year we are only 18 years or so from being barbarians again? Think of it this way. A human being left to be raised with no morality nor compassion will not turn 'good'. He will always turn out bad. YOu don't have to teach a child to be selfish or lie. It happens no matter what society wants to believe. We are not 'good' in any way when left to our own resources.

If Genesis is the reason and God really cared, why didn't he fix the problems as soon as the ransom was paid? Why has he allowed another 2000 years of needless suffering for an additional 6 plus billion people.

God gave His son that you may choose life. Don't blame God because of your own pride. He created beings who could choose, not puppets. Evil exists because we have a choice. Indeed, evil exists because we choose to live in rebellion. It doesn't have to affect you eternallly as you do have a choice.
Part of being God is determining the lifespan of the beings you created. Yet this is only the physical death as we are immortal souls who will live beyond this realm. When and how you and I die is irrelevant to the divine question to begin with!

Thom,
You were living your life in sin and rebellion then someone came along and shared the gospel. You became reconciled to God. Through you, others became reconciled before God and this goes on and on.....
Jesus came that you might live, not just now (and in abundant victory) but eternally in heaven and not separated from all that is good in hell. God let you live, He died for your sins. The real tragedy is when ones choose not to accept grace and settle for divine jusice instead.

Sometimes when I read these threads started by Rex or some other bible thumper, I wonder why I keep reading.

I have come to the conclusion it's for the same reason, when flipping channels on the TV, I just have to stop when I hit the channel showing professional wrestling.

tragedies happen not because of Jehovah but as was already stated.................Time and unforseen occurrences. Also MANKIND has alot of blame for The tragedies this world experiences.

If this Christ guy is so wonderful, deserving of our worship etc, could one of you peeps with connections tell him to lay off the typhoons, hurricanes and mudslides for a while? Thanks. I would think more people would be happy to praise Him for stopping all the innocent deaths much moreso than turning to him in sheer desparation while holding a dead child killed by a storm.
But then again if it wasn't for death, war and suffering why would people need religion/god/Christ? So maybe I do see why this loving god/savior/christ allows it to go on.
