Sorry I'm late. The Bible is so full of allegory and lack of direct statements it's no wonder its adherents take it on faith. That's what I mean by Christians believing Jesus to have fulfilled Messianic prophecies and Jews refuse to believe it.

My point about John's prologue is that William Tyndale recognized that the pronoun for LOGOS was neuter and so he rendered it "the world was created through it" etc.

Also, Colossians, in context, it sure sounds the new creation to me. "All things" are defined by vs 13 "the kingdon", vs 14 "the redemption", and powers, authorities, rulers, domnions, etc. Trees and planets and insects are not discussed here but rather the "[reconcilation] to himself all things."

    Just my thoughts. :)

CHRISTIANS CAN FELLOWSHIP fitly united by love even when they have different views (Ro 14) but it is true that a lot find it essential that both Catholic and most Protestant groups teach three totally different entities or persons (Father, Son, Spirit) have always existed from when time started included within what Romans 1:20 says depending on translation is one "Godship" "divine nature" or "Godhead." This belief called trinity adds that they share age, power, knowledge from God the Father as illustrated by when an acorn may be only a day old but its genes have the Father oak tree's infinitely longer age, capacity and information. Unitarians see total separation of the three, no sharing of divine nature, Godship or Godhead. Unitarians teach the three are different and do not share divine nature, Godhead or Godship. Modalists teach that God the Father has sometimes changed form to be the Son or Holy Spirit but then returned to His same form as Father. But, again, whichever view one takes, I can assure you from having been to trans-denominational (across-the-name-groups) fellowship meetings, it is indeed perfectly possible to fellowship even while differing on this and other "hot" potatoes, agreeing to allow disagreement as Romans 14 encourages, having "unity" in the perfect bond which is love. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BibleStudy1/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ChristianWitnesses/
