Here in Quebec, I'm paying $1.19 a litre. This time last year it was about $0.79 a litre, so it is expensive. But it was higher 1 month ago, when it reached a record high of $1.40 a litre.

Think of it this way guys. Here in England we pay about £1 a litre. It recently went down to about 93pence, but roughly, you pay £1 a litre. Now consider this: The American dollar is worth about half of the pound. So we pay double what you pay. AND the price of living is more expensive here.

By American standards my car is a four door Compact (Vauxhall Cavalier). When I fill up it costs me in the region of £50 ($80). I'm just glad it's a Turbo Diesel - I get at least 40 mpg out of it.
