Sorry, kent, but I still know a lot of JWs around here and back home, as well. I will not forget them.
Since I 'drifted' and didn't d.a. myself, most people will still talk to me. My family and I even went to an Invitation Only JW wedding last weekend and had a great time (my daughter was a ring bearer), and everyone I wanted to speak with (and some I didn't) talked to me like old times, my goatee notwithstanding.
The brother (an elder now) who was my best man when I got married called this July to specially invite me to the district assembly. For some reason, I had something else to do (can you say "JW.com"), and since I had already received so many notes (thanks to several posters who had suffered through... er... I mean already gone), I didn't make it. We have to make sacrifices in life like that sometimes.
I don't know, kent... if someone is willing to talk to me, I'll talk to them. If they respect me, I'll definitely respect them. The folks who keep my daughter are exceptional people, and I don't say that about many. Even though they are JWs, they are thinkers. What conversations we have rarely touch on 'the truth,' but when it does, they listen to me, so who knows? As I mentioned, our families have known each other almost 20 years, and their son is in my house regularly to hang out with my step-son and vice-versa. They all know I'm very inactive but all of them still treat me with all the respect and affection as they ever have.
What should I do, kent... shun them?
Tell me, kent, what *IS* my agenda, since you seem interested in alerting the board to it.
Thank you.

I don't know about that, Kent. Even though I am very much an Ex-, there are a few current elders in this town with whom I have a friendly relationship, and have even done business with from time to time. Not being "officially" df/da, I am still in their "gray area" and those who liked me to begin with still do, and those who never did certainly don't now.
Thanks, Chuck. I didn't think my situation was so bizarre as to warrant such an accusation--he was accusing me of something, wasn't he? Then again, maybe we should keep our eye on YOU, Chuck! Where where you last Tuesday night when the group met for Bookstudy?
I guess folks in kent's world avoid him like the plague, so he thinks a normal life like mine is weird. I chose NOT to D.A. for this very reason, to have the life I have now where I can talk to whoever I want, and they can talk to me. Can't imagine, not for the life of me, why anyone would avoid kent.
It seems that life is chock full of mysteries, eh Chuck? Will they ever end...

I didn't need it (you know that) but Thank You. As far as kent? No harm, no foul. He's a little puppy dog, yapping at my boots. Remember? I do.

Have I ever told you that you are a straight up fool? Well... you a straight up fool, and I mean that in the very best way possible. People type "rotfl," but bruddah, you had me laughing out loud. How do you come up with that stuff? Your ex must've hated laughing.
We three will have to hook up, fo' sho.
Yo, Big, when is mardis gras? (mail me)
