We had a thread like this in the past few months. I mentioned Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel, it's the song from the animated feature Watership Down, not the Bonnie Tyler song Turn Around.

I like the song Sitting by Cat Stevens. The lyrics make you sound like you are sitting in the room attending your own funeral. I also like Miles From No where by Cat.

Cat-Stevens's Lyrics - Miles From Nowhere Lyrics

    Miles from nowhere

I guess I’ll take my time

    Oh yeah, to reach there

    Look up at the mountain

    I have to climb

    Oh yeah, to reach there.

Lord my body has been a good friend

But I won’t need it when I reach the end

    Miles from nowhere

    Guess I’ll take my time

    Oh yeah, to reach there

    I creep through the valleys

And I grope through the woods

’cause I know when I find it my honey

It’s gonna make me feel good

    I love everything

So don’t it make you feel sad

’cause I’ll drink to you, my baby

I’ll think to that, I’ll think to that.

    Miles from nowhere

    Not a soul in sight

    Oh yeah, but it’s alright

    I have my freedom

I can make my own rules

Oh yeah, the ones that I choose

Lord my body has been a good friend

But I won’t need it when I reach the end

    Miles from nowhere

    Guess I’ll take my time

    Oh yeah, to reach there.

ok, also posting the lyrics then:

"don't fear the reaper" by blue oyster cult, covered by HIM

    All our times have come
    Here but now they're gone
    Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain (we can be like they are)
Come on baby (don't fear the reaper)
Baby take my hand (don't fear the reaper)
We shall be able to fly (don't fear the reaper)
    Baby I'm your man
    Baby I'm your man
    Baby I'm your man
    Valentine is done
    Here but now they're gone
    Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity (Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday (like Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday (redefine hapiness)
Another 40,000 coming everyday (we canbe like they are)
Come on baby (don't fear the reaper)
Baby take my hand (don't fear the reaper)
We'll be able to fly (don't fear the reaper)
    Baby I'm your man
    Baby take my hand
    Baby take my hand
    Love of two is one
    Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
    The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared (saying don't be afraid)
Come on baby (and she had no fear)
And she ran to him (then they started to fly)
They looked backward and said goodbye (she had become like they are)
She had taken his hand (she had become)

Google, my daughter is into HIM, she's in love with the lead singer. She thinks he's beautiful. I saw BOC when I was 16, a couple of years before Don't Fear The Reaper was released. I got to see them again this summer at a free concert in Michigan. They performed it and of course they're still amazingly good.

Now Comes The Night by Rob Thomas

When the hour is upon us
    And our beauty surely gone
No you will not be forgotten
And you will not be alone
No you will not be alone

And when the day has all but ended
And our echo starts to fade
No you will not feel lonely
And you will not be afraid
No you will not be afraid

When the fog has finally lifted
From my cold and tired brow
No I will not leave you crying
No I will not let you down
No I will not let you down
I will not let you down

    Now comes the night
    Feel it fading away
    And the soul underneath
    Is it all that remains
    So just slide over here
Leave your fear in the fray
Let us hold to each other
'Til the end of our days

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
    Let them know
    The Wicked Witch is dead!

or....Take This Job And Shove It--Johnny Paycheck.

I also want Amazing Grace played on the bag pipes.

I also have a tee-shirt I want to be wearing. On the front, it says, I'd rather be breathing. On the back it says, keep the fun in funeral.
