Some left because they couldn't follow the pace.

Some left because they knew they were living a double life.

Some left because they rathered live a life of sin.

And some left because they considered it a cult.

I stopped going because I was unable to keep up with all their demands and expectations, and I found them too controling. Also because they cover their past and give false hope for the near future.

    Why did you leave?

l stopped attending meetings because of the unloving way I was being treated, though I still believed most of it at the time.

I da'd a few years later because I didn't believe any of it any more, and didn't want to even slightly connected with the wts

I actually read my Bible - and realized I had a conscience that worked on things other than what the Org told me I was allowed to use it for.

I could not serve the interest of the orginisation as well as my own lurid fleshly desires. I had a penchant for porn that would not go away. I couldn't serve Jehovah as a fake and a liar. Praying from the platform, reading at the Book Study, going out in field service, I walked away from all of it. I was not going to give Jehovah my services while living a lie

I left because I was miserable when I discovered that I was being lied to. I did not feel that I could, in good conscience, perpetuate the lies I was taught and bring misery to the lives of others.

    In the basic order in which they affected my perspective;

    • Lack of true brotherly love
    • Felt that Df'ing was incorrectly done
    • Became aware of the Silent Lamb/ Pedophile issues
    • Read Franz's books, then Jonnson's then Penton's

All that emcompassed several months - we never lived a lie before and could not do so - so we left

Conscience was the driving force that took us out - we were good witnesses up to that point for decades

I was told I never made the truth my own. I was weak, and needed to start over, and learn the basics. When, as an adult, I studied it, and read, and learned, I found out I was lied to, and I was lying to other. (my children esp.)

When being told I was doing enough, and what they expected, demanded, and required was above and beyond what is written, I left.

    Why did you leave?

I started reading my Bibles. It came down to believing the Bible or believing the Watchtower. Since the Bible is God's Word and He can not lie, I left the lie.

Me and the WBTS....we had a disgreement over who should run my life, them or me.

I finally figured out that what I feared more then all the eternal damnation...was that cage they kept me in.

News came about the Watchtower Society sheltering child molesters and having a 10 year liason as an NGO with the U.N. even while elders called the U.N. "satanic," hence hypocrisy. I also started studying the Bible as to various topics using a key words concordance. For example I found Luke 10 said "do not be transferring from house to house" meaning alternative witnessing by deeds of kindness are okay, not just using words and trying to bang on every door canvassing style which Christ never did anymore than the apostles did.

I also read Ted Jaracz of the Governing Body (called "the boss" at Bethel) was publicly alleged to be a pedophile (ditto for now deceased Leo Greenlees), yet other Gov Body members kept supporting him even after he ran from newsreporters without denying the accusations. This decided me that there is absolutely 100% no chance of reforming the Watchtower Society so I began the Christian Witnesses fellowship. See it and at the bottom of the page free items:

Lots of people on the internet talked about having such an alternative but no one actually worked at it so I finally decided after a heart operation that given what time I may have left I should go ahead and do so so as to help more people to enjoy greater happiness.
