Music was an important part of William and Sarah Conley's ministry.

Sarah played the organ and piano.

Both William and Sarah enjoyed singing.

Each often teamed with friends to form duets, quartets, etc.

I believe that at the time of Conley's death in July 1897 that William and Sarah were members of the Fifth United Presbyterian Church of Allegheny.

This "conclusion" comes from piecing together several bits and pieces of info from multiple sources; rather than direct statement. Thus, it is possible this is not accurate.

I have not verified this with that church. Others are welcome to do so.

Notice how close Conley's 1890s post-WatchTower "ministry" sounds to that of Charles Taze Russell's. One can only wonder how much influence that the older William Henry Conley (who was 12 years Chuckie's senior), had on WatchTower theology:

    QUADRENNIAL ANNIVERSARY

Among the visitors present were: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Conley, of Pittsburg; ... .

The first service was Friday afternoon, at which Mr. Conley spoke on "Meat in Due Season," Matt. 24: 45-47, showing God's plan in revealing truth and fulfilling prophecies in "due time." Daniel was to "seal the book," but John was to "seal not the book." The one was not due, the other "is at hand." Many other instances wre cited from the dim light of the antediluvian period to the full glory of the coming Sun of Righteousness. ...

On Sunday afternoon Mr. Conley spoke to a large audience on "The Second Coming of Christ," using his large, comprehensive chart. This was a rich treat to all. The singing of Mr. and Mrs. Conley was a great inspiration in these anniversary services.

Now, we know that WILLIAM HENRY CONLEY did not quietly fade into oblivion after 1882, but to the contrary even had a higher profile than did Charles Taze Russell from 1882 until his death in 1897.

Now, it is obvious why Russell and the WatchTower Society have kept CONLEY'S history a secret.

It is even obvious why the "other" religious group have kept CONLEY'S "WatchTower history" a secret.

    However, what about the Russellites?

The "Bible Students" who frequent here claim to be the guardians of the truth on the history of Russell and the WatchTower.

WHAT IS THE RUSSELLITES EXCUSE FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONSPIRACY TO HIDE THE FACT THAT THE FIRST PRESIDENT (and 50% of the ORIGINAL Bible Students) TURNED HIS BACK ON RUSSELL'S MUMBO-JUMBO?

If there is anyone living in the Pittsburgh area, it would be interesting to know whether the CONLEY mansion is still standing.

Not only were the first "Bible Students" meetings held there, but it was large enough for Conley's own funeral.

After spliting from Russell, other ministers, etc held public meetings at the Conley home, including those from Europe who toured the U.S.
