OK, earlier I was sitting here on the PC, when my mum comes in and says it looks like I've got a lump behind my ear, I go and have a look, and she's right, there's a lump one side, but not behind my other ear, so I'm pretty sure it's not part of my skull. Now I didn't notice this before. But after I was told about it, I swear it's starting to hurt... Is it worth getting checked out by the doc, or is it one of those things you can leave and it'll go away?
Should I go to the Docs?

YES GO TO THE DOCTORS...
You cannot be too careful about these things Jordan. If anything go for peace of mind.
My father found a strange lump on his neck. He went to the Dr about it who dismissed it as a skin tag. (Although much different to your usual skin tag.) He sought a second opinion and insisted it be tested. It turned out to be cancerous. Further tests were conducted and more cancer was identifed in his body. Treatment began and he is here today ONLY because he acted on it so promptly in the first place and pursued the matter.
Please Jordan, go to the doctor.

Maybe it's a pimple. Did you try popping it?

I'm ringing for an appointment tomorrow morning. It can't be anything too bad can it, because I heard cancerous lumps actually don't physically cause pain.

It looks blue to me, but I think that was just shadow, and me bending my neck to try and look in the mirror...

Not all cancers have pain as a symptom and you said it didn't hurt until it was pointed out to you. And then it might hurt now if you were feeling around it. It could be as benign as a cyst and if so it possibly could be removed in the Dr office (I had one on my back and had it removed in the office.)
But you are talking about something on your head. I wouldn't fool around. Yup like you said call the Dr in the morning. If it's nothing you can stop worrying about it and if it is something important you have a quick start on it. You win either way

Could be a sebaceous cyst as these are quite common. It's always a good idea to have any anamolies checked by your physician.
Hope things go well for you.

I had a small bean sized lump in front of my ear when I was twelve, had it removed and it was not malignant. Have it checked out to be sure.

One the unworrisome side of the spectrum, it could be an infection or I suppose your lymph nodes could be calcified. Or on the opposite side, it could be lymphoma or cancer somewhere. So, 'tis a good idea to get it checked out.
