Laborde:
Firstly, let me join with others in welcoming you aboard! Please settle in and enjoy your time here. You'll find that if you do, you'll learn plenty!
Now let me address your post:
Jehovah's witness's use so many books because there is so many things to learn about the bible.True, but do you see christians attending church with a briefcase full of books so that they can understand what's going on?
Thats like asking why a student needs so many books for college.I have a problem with that statement. You see, going to a place of worship to praise God is hardly the equivalent of attending college to deepen your knowledge of a field of study is it?
As for the person who said that they need a watchtower in hand, it may have been a new witness who did not know many things about the bible. I personally know many witnesses who can answer any question a person has and tell them the scripture to look up with only using a bible. But how do we know? All of the talks are basically a presentation of someone else's ideas. Contrast this with pastors and ministers who deliver sermons each week that they have prepared themselves. They don't need an organisation to tell them what to say.
And the books are not sold, they are given out for free.Well, our learned friend Gumby has blown that one out of the water! So, we're left with lady Lee's question: Why do they need so many books? Well, why DO they?
