The most boring meeting by far was the Watchtower, I always wanted to ask a question during one of those meetings to liven it up a bit, but never followed through with it. On a slightly different note, when people would underline or highlite 95% of the text. Why not just underline 5% of the text you don't want.

by minimus inthe more meetings you go to the more drivel you hear.
elder's meetings were terrible because all you ever did was gossip about how everyone wasn't doing this or that.

Could she have thought it was a JW singles site?

Polygamy in new system??
by 67mustang inthe whole time that i was in the "borg" i never was given a good answer about polygamy in the (supposed) new system.
if a partner dies and the other remarries it creates a paradox in the "resurection".
anybody have any ideas?

It's crazy, just because I don't believe the JW's and want to leave, everyone is all over me. It's been the subject for 2 months straight, (since I left). It's a quite a cult. I believe in God, but I think the JW's are missing the point. They think that if your in the "world" then you're on Satan's lap. I'm not out raising cain, I'm just being a good person, which "isn't enough". If you're in the world you may as well let it all hang out and party hard, rob a bank or do something stupid because it doesn't matter, thats happened to a few of my friends. I'm tired of them telling me, "oh don't get married till the new system" and regulating every single detail in my life.

Women and the Watchtower
by 67mustang inwhy are women in the watchtower society not allowed to give talks, pray in front of men and all the other crap that they keep them from doing?
i think this submission thing is out of control.

I never had a good feeling about the way the women in the hall were treated. One person that comes to mind at my old hall, treats his wife like a dog, (literally) he's been there for 40 years and that was another reason I left that hypocritical bunch.

"Work that will be completed in our 20th c...
by 67mustang ini read an article about a 1989 watchtower that stated the preaching work would be completed in our 20th century, but was revised in the bound volume to say "in our day".
i told my brother this and he said, "if it's on the net about jw's it's a lie".
i want to prove to him it was a fact.

JW's and Alien Life
by 67mustang ini would like to know if anybody feels there is life on other planets.
jw's typically say no, but that seems arogant, the universe is ridiculously huge.
maybe god created tons of life and we are the only ones that turned, we were therefore cut off and became limited to our 10% brain power while they continued to advance.

Now they get to take field trips to earth to get scared straight. : )
